Glasgow East Alcohol Awareness Project

The Glasgow East Alcohol Awareness Project “GEAAP” has been offering a service to the East of Glasgow since 1991. GEAAP’s aim is to reduce the harm associated with the use and misuse of alcohol.

We offer FREE services to anyone concerned about their own or another’s alcohol use.

Our free services range from one-to-one counselling to working with Schools and groups in the community.

Supporting the East End

Our team has been working in the East End for over 25 years to help reduce the harm caused by the use and misuse of alcohol. If you feel like you want to stop drinking or discuss your alcohol use, you can contact us.

The team at GEAAP is made up of staff and volunteers, each with the common goal of improving the lives of those living in the East End. Learn more about our team and how we can help you to stop drinking.

  • Alcohol can lower your blood sugar levels, which can cause seizures.

  • Alcohol is associated with 33% of major trauma patients and 25% of all trauma patients.

  • Two in five (41%) of prisoners report being drunk at the time of their offence.

  • 71% of alcohol-related hospital stays were men.

  • Alcohol was a factor in 3,705 deaths in Scotland in 2015.
